Snape closed shop for the day and they went for a walk. Christmas season had crept up on both of them, they realised as they strolled through the streets. Fairy lights and tinsel were everywhere. They even came across a couple of guys dressing up like reindeer. Snape just snorted.
"Look," Harry finally said after a long bout of silence. "Maybe we should start this differently. Jumping right in is obviously not working for us, so maybe we should go on a proper date. If you're interested, that is."
Snape gave him a long look. "Yes."
Harry beamed at him.
