Title: Picking him
Prompt: Written for
adventdrabbles' Dec 06 Prompt: Holiday Hangover (featuring a drunk, naked Santa passed out in an alley, a Santa hat over his bits *g*)
Snape groaned. “Fantastic. Seems like I'm stuck with you.”
“A blizzard, though? That's new.”
“New, but not good.”
Harry rubbed the back of his head. He felt like he had partied too hard. He tried hard to remember what had happened, but the memories still took their time coming back. He looked at Snape and tried to smile. He didn't quite manage.
Snape rolled his eyes. “Sit down.” He went over to a cupboard and brought Harry a flask. “Drink this.”
“Thanks.” The potion worked immediately. “You know, if I have to be stuck with someone, I'd always pick you.”
Title: Drinks
Prompt: Written for
adventdrabbles' Dec 07 Prompt: Sparkling Cider
Snape had turned back to his potion and Harry looked around the room for something to do. “Say, you don't have anything to drink by chance?”
“Potter, you just had a head injury. Your body is still full of my potion.”
Harry bit his lip. Snape was right, but a drink would make this easier. “Is that a no?”
Snape walked over to a cabinet in the corner. “No.” He retrieved two bottles, both filled with something yellow. Harry said nothing as Snape poured and waited for Snape to hand him the glass. “Apple juice for you. Cider for me.”
Title: Something good
Prompt: Written for
adventdrabbles' Dec 08 Prompt: Christmas ornaments
Harry sipped his apple juice and tried to come up with a way to ask Snape out on a date. They weren't exactly friends and never hung out, so asking Snape to come help decorate Harry's home was out of the question. Plus, he couldn't image Snape even holding a Christmas ornament without sneering at it in distaste.
He couldn't just outright ask, could he? The chance that Snape might rebuff him was too big. Harry needed something fool proof. Something without too many people, because Snape surely would hate being surrounded by cheerful drunk people. Harry needed something good.
Title: Tacky
Prompt: Written for
adventdrabbles' Dec 09 Prompt: The North Pole
Severus glanced at the clock and sighed. It really was time for Potter to leave. Really. He needed to leave before Severus did anything stupid. He glanced at the clock again and then quickly walked to the door. Surely the blizzard was –
Severus ripped the door open and slammed it shut again with the slight look of horror etched into his face.
"What is it?" asked Potter.
"There's… it looks like the North Pole out there. Like a tacky, Christmas-card version of the North Pole. Complete with ice-skating penguins." He shook himself. He needed more cider to get through this.
Title: Haunting
Prompt: Written for
adventdrabbles' Dec 10 Prompt: Snowflakes
Harry laughed at the look of horror on Snape's face. "I can't believe you of all people are afraid of a bit of snow." He waved his wand around in circles and watched the snowflakes that slowly fell from the ceiling and landed on Snape's robes. Snape gave him a dirty look.
"I'm very much not afraid of snow. I just don't want to kick you out and have to Auror department haunt me because you froze to death in that white hell that is currently the corridors."
Harry flipped Snape the bird and grinned. "I always knew you cared."
Title: Now or never
Prompt: Written for
adventdrabbles' Dec 11 Prompt: Christmas carol sheet music with jingle bells, greenery, and ornaments
Water seeping in from under the door told Harry that soon the blizzard outside would be over. Now or never, he told himself. "Say… I was wondering. Are you, by any chance, free tomorrow night?"
"Free? I'm hardly in shackles, Potter."
"No. I mean. I…" Harry took a deep breath. From the look on Snape's face he enjoyed seeing Harry struggle. "Would you like coming over to my place?"
Snape frowned. "You are trying to get me to do something festive. Like carol singing."
"Nothing festive, I promise. Just… a thank-you drink."
Snape regarded Harry for a long time. "Acceptable."
Title: Going all out
Prompt: Written for
adventdrabbles' Dec 12 Prompt: Fairy Lights
Harry's home was decked out in fairy lights. He had thought about toning things down for Snape's visit, but couldn't bring himself to take down even a single one. Harry had stocked up on a variety of alcohol, not wanting Snape to leave because he didn't have the right kind of drink. It was already a miracle Snape had even agreed to come visit. Harry couldn't mess things up now. He even had prepared a variety of food, hoping Snape might stay a bit longer if he just had the right things to eat. Maybe he was a tad nervous.
