gin_tonic: (NRAAH!)
Yesterday I met a couple of friends in one of the many parks here and somehow we started talking about Minesweeper. You know, the Windows game that can get you addicted and drive you mad at the same time. JK plays it, too. I'm pretty good at it (not as good as JK, I think :P) and the best time for me on the pro level is 129 seconds. So, one of my friends didn't believe me when I told him my time and I said "Well, whenever I have writer's block I play that game ... so I had loads of practise." And that led to us talking about writer's block. Said friend (who likes to hear himself talk) told us that something like writer's block doesn't exist and that somebody who can't write should just give it up. Forever. WTF? I'm sure loads of the people on LJ and in the Fandom know exactly what writer's block is like and I think we all agree that it's not very nice when you want to write but your brain is just a big, fat piece of pudding. NRAAH! *shakes fist* Oh and said friend doesn't write. As far as I know (and I was in the same Advanced German class with him at school) he doesn't have the talent for it. Of course if you ask him he only needs to want to write and he will do great. Same goes with playing soccer (he thinks he would be better than the guys on the teams in the World Cup, at least that's what it sounds like when he talks), football, handball and everything else.
As far as my opinion goes he's just all talk. Bah!
I just needed to get that out of my system.
By the way: I swam on my way home. Figuratively. It was raining so hard that I was soaked. So much for my hairdo. >.
