After the Quidditch match, George opted to stay for the night. And even though they could hardly move and were certainly too exhausted for anything too exciting, Viktor felt his heart swell with happiness as George lay close to him. He scooted over and pressed a kiss to George's lips—and George kissed him back, almost hungrily.

"Hey, you know what?" George whispered. "From now on, the days will be brighter."

Viktor blinked trying to decipher the unexpected romantic sentence, when it hit him. "Longer you mean." He rolled his eyes.

George grinned. "Winter Solstice. But I still mean it."

George decorated the little Christmas tree he would put up each year, listening to Christmas music and pondering what had happened in the last couple of days. After everything that had happened one year ago, he hadn't expected to see Viktor again. Hoped, but never expected. And now… It felt sudden and confusing and absolutely glorious. He was looking forward to seeing Viktor again – ached for it, really – and to kissing him. For the first time in so long, things were looking up in the romance department.

George stepped back and looked at his tree decorated in red and gold.

Christmas Morning, happy chaos reigned in the Burrow. Children were shrieking, playing with wrapping paper and their new toys, Charlie was making his famous eggnog, plates laden with Mince Pies and Pigs in Blankets floated through the air, and Celestina Warbeck warbled in the background. When the doorbell rang, George was the first to answer—and his content Christmas smile turned into a beam when he found Viktor at the door.

"Happy Christmas," Viktor said and they kissed until Ron's eldest interrupted them, because she wanted to see if more presents had arrived for her.

George laughed and shooed her away, then blinked when Viktor handed him a present – it was decorated with two candy canes that formed a heart. "I didn't know you were such a sweet romantic," he said, kissing him again.

"There's a lot you have to discover about me," Viktor said, smiling brightly.

"I'm looking forward to it." George took his hand and led him into the house filled with laughter and happiness.
