I still owe you guy a couple of drabbles. Eight, in fact - for my LJ-anniversary. So yeah, almost four months later (*ducks*), I give you anniversary drabbles! (Hooray!) They were written for these awesome people:
dementordelta,
lilyseyes,
alisanne,
torino10154,
majmunka,
accioslash,
smallbrownfrog, and
roozette. I'll post them in three instalments.
Title: Gentle Surprise
Author:
me_midget
Written for:
dementordelta, who prompted me with "Seeing Stars"
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Harry Potter/Severus Snape
Word Count: 100
Warnings: none
The sentiment was romantic, but looking at stars usually made Harry feel like he was back in Astronomy class. He was in luck, though; it was a very cloudy night.
"Too bad," Harry said, hoping he sounded sincere. Severus spread out the blanket anyway. "There are no stars." And yet Harry let himself be pulled onto the blanket.
Severus cast a privacy charm as he began nuzzling Harry's neck. "Those aren't the stars I wanted you to see anyway." Harry moaned deeply and was very, very thankful for the overcast sky. One year into dating, Severus could still surprise him.
Title: Remedy
Author:
me_midget
Written for:
lilyseyes, who prompted me with " Spring"
Rating: PG
Pairing: Harry Potter/Severus Snape
Word Count: 100
Warnings: none
Harry sneezed, blew his nose, rubbed his eyes and started sneezing again. "I hate spring."
Severus raised his eyebrow (through teary eyes Harry could see it was his left). "You hate birches. But you love spring."
"Says you," Harry sniffled and grabbed another handkerchief. Harry watched Severus ladle a light-green potion into a mug and made grabby hands for it. "Gimme."
"It's still too hot." Severus blew on it, then handed it to Harry. "Wait two more minutes." Harry did, then greedily drank the vile stuff. "Better?"
Harry took a deep breath. "Yes. Perfect." He stretched up and kissed Serverus.
Title: Arbutus
Author:
me_midget
Written for:
alisanne, who prompted me with "Red Roses"
Rating: PG
Pairing: Harry Potter/Severus Snape
Word Count: 100
Warnings: none
The red roses had been the cause of the row. Harry had bought them for Ginny's birthday because they were pretty and because Ginny liked roses. But apparently there was a whole language to flowers and red roses meant many things that made Severus extremely angry,
Harry had apologized, of course, but it hadn't been enough. "What do you want me to do?"
Severus kept his silence. He tried apologizing with a cake, with chocolate. When nothing worked, he bought a book on the meaning of flowers and sent Severus an Arbutus. Three days later, Severus knocked on Harry's door.

Date: 2013-06-02 08:12 pm (UTC)Oh, that was brilliant! I love the idea that Harry (or anyone really) is bored by typical romantic gestures. But Severus always has a way of surprising him.
Oh, and I really love the way you've broken these sets into installments. All the themes are really cleverly done.
