Once Harry had recovered from the shock of seeing Snape, he tried his best to make conversation: "So you work here?"
"I own this establishment," Snape said rather grimly. "Now, did you want something or have you just come here to stare?"
"I… yes." But Harry had forgot what he wanted. Instead, he stared at a bowl of ancient looking Christmas sweets. "How long have those been here?" When he looked at Snape, he knew he'd said the wrong thing.
"Long. Now leave."
"But—"
"Leave!"
Harry grabbed Ron and hurried outside.
"Well, you certainly botched that up," Ron said.
