Draco hadn't thought anyone would find him here in Romania. But then again, he also hadn't thought his money would run out and it had. That was how Charlie Weasley had stumbled across him – working at a dive bar in the sticks. How Charlie had come to ask him out and how Draco had ended up agreeing, he'd probably never understand, though.

And now he was here, freezing his arse off, waiting for Charlie to join him for a stroll on the Christmas market. Draco ordered a mulled wine, trying to calm his nerves and warm his hands. He smiled.

Draco blew in his hands to keep away the cold – Charlie had yet to show up. Maybe he shouldn't have come. What if Charlie didn't come? Draco wouldn't be surprised – who'd want to date him, anyway? But that wouldn't stop the feeling of disappointment and failure that was already making its way to his heart.

"Excuse me! Pardon!"

Draco turned around to see who was making this ruckus and found it was Charlie pushing through the throng of people. He blushed even before the other man had reached him.

Breathing heavily, Charlie apologized. "My supervisor Jack made me work overtime."

"Nah, I do that during my off-time," Charlie said and winked. "Had to chop firewood instead. It's not all that glamorous at the reservation." He pointed at the mulled wine booth, and Draco nodded in agreement. When he returned with two steaming cups, he asked, "Now tell me: What brings you to Romania?"

Draco blew on his hot wine, looking for an answer that wasn't 'I'm trying to hide from my past'. But when he looked at Charlie's genuinely curious face, he decided to go for honesty, for once.

The two weeks he'd spent at the reservation seemed like a dream to Draco. They'd so quickly moved from having a cup of mulled wine to fucking in front of the fireplace that he felt dizzy – but in a good way. They were practically attached at the hip (or dick to arse, if one wanted to be crude), and only spent time apart when they had to go to work.

Now, lying on that rough mattress of Charlie's, watching the flames flicker in the fireplace, Draco thought that there had never been a Christmas when he'd been happier than this.
