Heat makes clothes unnecessary :D
Jun. 12th, 2006 01:46 pmI'm sitting in the garden at the moment and decided it would be time to tell you ... some things.
1. It's hot. My room is hot, even at night. It's hot outside. *wipes sweat from forehead*
2. The sun follows me. It heats up my Petey (aka my laptop).
3. There was a barricade at the uni. I left the bus, turned left to walk to the building where I have my Monday classes and my eyes went wide like O.O WTF?! A barricade, blocking the complete way to the uni (at least on that side of the road and who wants to cross that anyway? Surely not me, because I would have had to walk back to the traffic light. Bah.) with fire and everything. I followed the masses to walk around the barricades. We had to crouch through some bushes. O_o ... yeah. An exciting day after one week Pentecost holidays.
4. THE WORLD CUP! Germany (that's us) is hosting this Football (Soccer) World Championship and the group with England and Sweden have matches here. *drool* Of course I mainly cheer for the German team, but when they're not playing I root for England, Sweden, Japan and yesterday even Mexico. They whole city is the location of a big party, especially when we play. We had the opening game - of course - and won! I was in a bar to watch the game and man, we had fun! :D Afterwards I was in the city - people with the German flag everywhere and I was wearing my Germany-Sweatband proudly. Football or sport in general is the only real occasion where we Germans can openly be proud of our country. If we show that on other occasions we're called Nazis, even though most of us aren't. I even believe there are more Nazis and racists in the US than you can find here. But enough with that and back to sport: Today's matches are Australia - Japan, USA - Czechia and Italy - Ghana.
Germany- Costa Rica 4:2
Poland - Ecuador 0:2
England - Paraguay 0:1
Trinidad and Tobago - Sweden 0:0
Argentina - Ivory Coast 2:1
Serbia-Montenegro - Netherlands 0:1
Mexico - Iran 3:1
Angola - Portugal 0:1
