xP!!! I'm watching this show where people emigrate from Germany. At the moment there's this couple who has just moved to the US. They actually seem quite nice and everything, but she is calling him "Papa" and he is calling her "Mama". Honestly!

I've never understood that - one of my ex-BFs, his parents did that, but they called each other "mother" and "father". That's just weird, IMO.

I call my parents "Mama" and "Papa", so calling that someone else - especially a partner - is just ... wrong. >_< If you say to your children something like "Why don't you go and show Papa [...]" that's perfectly fine, of course, but otherwise? No.

I agree - I refer to my DH as "Daddy" when I'm talking to my DD, but I don't call him "Daddy". That's just wrong.
