Can't you email them and say WTF? Even if there are alternatives, the recipient clearly really wants that (and you already said you wouldn't do it).

While it's certainly unfair of me, this is precisely the reason I won't sign up to do art for exchange fests. Intellectually I know there are significantly more people who are happy with their assignments than not, however, the posts I tend to see all sound like this one. And no one wants to sound like a prima dona and ask the mods for a do-over.

I'm sure something will work out, hon, and in this case I think the best solution would be to ask the mods for a different assignment.

Thank you! :) I did ask the mods and got another assignment. It won't be easy, but I signed up to the fest (hp_rarities) to try something new, so that's fine.

Usually I don't have any problems with my assignments. In the past months I have tended to Snarry fics and found other pairings a bit harder to write for, but since I didn't exclude them in my sign-up and they were still pairings that I liked I never had a real problem with anything before. And this one also worked out.

Can you ask the mod to change it? I mean, the sign-ups are supposed to help with making the assignments, right? Could the mod have missed it??

They might have missed it or might have hoped I would choose the one alternative pairing without Snape. But I talked to them and they were really quick with offering me an alternative. :D

That's true, it can't be easy. Now I have to figure out how to make my fic work. It will most likely be smut (very dirty smut :P) and I will write you about it shortly. Maybe tomorrow, if I find time between university, baking banana bread and going to the first goodbye-party this year. *sigh*

At least I'll just be saying see you in summer rather than goodbye, because the girl actually studies at my home university. :P But no doubt my Canadian Guy will be very sad and I can't stand to see him like that - whenever he has tears in his eyes I start crying as well. Especially because I'm very prone for hormonal weirdness this week.
