Merlin/Arthur, Storm

Yay! Merlin drabbles! (The title of these proves, once again, that I suck at titles... :P) Let's pretend it's still the 15th in my part of the world...

Title: Storm
Author: [insanejournal.com profile] gin_tonic
Fandom/Pairing/Prompt: Merlin, Merlin/Arthur, Water/Emotions/First Kiss
Rating: R
Word Count: 300 - 3x100
Summary: There is a storm. And rain. And Merlin and Arthur are in it. Oh yes.
Disclaimer: Not mine, just playing.

"Merlin! Merlin, I command you to stop!" Arthur yells as he runs after Merlin, not minding the rain and that his voice is barely audible over the storm. Merlin, of course, ignores him, just like he has been doing ever his eyes turned golden and he made the air crackle.
Arthur's run turns into a sprint and he catches up with Merlin, grabbing him and slamming him against a tree. They are panting, water running down their faces, dropping from their noses.
"I … I'm sorry," Merlin gasps, looking ashamed.
"I don't care, "Arthur says and crushes their mouths together.

It takes Merlin two whole seconds to react, to kiss Arthur back. His heart his beating wildly in his chest, his blood is roaring in his ears, blinding out everything that is not Arthur and him. Merlin clutches at Arthur, tries to pull him even closer. He doesn't want to let go, not after he thought that he had lost him.
Their kisses become more desperate, and somehow Arthur manages to wedge his knee between Merlin's legs. He can feel Arthur's arousal and presses himself against his prince. The friction makes him gasp and he knows it won't take long.

Afterwards Arthur gently kisses raindrops off of Merlin's face and Merlin smiles at him. It takes all that Arthur has to step away from Merlin, but he leaves his hand on Merlin's, refuses to let go until there is no other way, until they will be back in Camelot.
It is a long way and neither of them is in a hurry. Slowly they make their way through the woods, hands clasped, shoulders bumping once in a while. After a while Arthur mumbles something that sounds like "Idiot" and Merlin responds, equally quiet, with "Prat". Everything will be good. Eventually.

I can hear the anguish in the Arthur's voice...very well done.

Editorially, I wish the tense would have been past tense. I kept feeling I was rehearsing for a play.

Thanks. :) I don't quite know why I used present tense, but I have the feeling that I do that a lot when I write drabbles. Can't explain the reasons though. XD

It's gorgeous. Arthur really feels desperate and the urgency is both imminent and beautiful. Very well done! The whole grabbing Merlin and pushing him against the possibly made me moan a bit... *shifty look* Good I'm alone right now.

(I spotted a singly typo - first line in the second drabble where an "is" has morphed into a "his".)

Hehe, thank you! :D

And argh to the typo - thanks for pointing that out!

YOU WROTE MERLIN FIC! *dances wildly*

I love it! I love how urgent and desperate their kiss is, and yet how it doesn't change anything between them -- they're still just as snarky. Really lovely!

Yay! Thank you!!! :D I'm so glad you like my first toe-dipping into writing Merlin fic.

Oh, that's sweet. *wonders if she should have watched Merlin*

Thanks! :D And yes, you should have watched it. It's brilliant, historically and in any way incorrect, but even the history student in me decides to ignore that and just be happy that the pretty boys are so damn cute and slashable! Wheeee!
